Fall 19 Fabrics

Souvenir Redux Varsity Jacket

Our Souvenir Redux Varsity Jacket is constructed with an incredible mix of five premium fabrics. We’ve used full-grain leather on the sleeves, rugged and weather-resistant melton wool on the body with heavyweight ribbing for the cuffs and collar. On the inside, we’ve used a quilted nylon lining for added warmth and satin lined double welt leather pockets. In addition to the premium fabrics we’ve used on this jacket, each piece has a whopping 125,000 embroidery stitches.

Merino Wool Blend Cable Knit

Made in: Canada
Content: 50% merino wool / 50% acrylic
Found on: McQueen Sweater

The McQueen Sweater is our take on a menswear staple, the cable knit Aran sweater, with a twist—literally! The sweater features a diagonally knit front panel and is made with a 50/50 blend of premium Zegna Baruffa merino wool and acrylic yarn to minimize shrinkage. The wool we use has been pre-shrunk, but we recommend hand-washing this piece in cold water and laying flat to dry.

Double Plaid Cotton Flannel

Weight: 290 gsm / 8.55 oz
Found on: Double Plaid Flannel Zip Shirt

This heavyweight, yarn-dyed cotton flannel is woven to give the appearance of two vibrant plaids blended together in the same fabric.

Maple Camo Cotton Fleece

Made in: Canada
Content: 100% cotton
Weight: 400 gsm / 11.8 oz

Cordura NYCO Canvas

Content: 75% cotton/25% nylon
Weight: 324 gsm / 9.56 oz
Found on: Cordura/Polartec Deck Jacket

Cordura fabric is known for it’s strength and durability and this NYCO canvas is no exception. Paired with a Polartec Thermal Pro lining, this gives our Deck Jacket a combined fabric weight of 643 gsm or 18.96 oz. The combination of fabrics used makes for an incredibly warm and weather resistant jacket perfect for the fall.

Polartec Thermal Pro

Content: 100% polyester
Weight: 319 gsm / 9.4 oz
Found on: Cordura/Polartec Deck Jacket & Polartec Thermal Pro Sweatpants

Polartec Thermal Pro was designed for maximum thermoregulation (keeping moisture out and heat in) while being as light as possible. We’ve replaced the traditional wool lining in our deck jacket with a more modern, technical fabric.

Cotton Moleskin

Content: 100% cotton
Weight: 329 gsm / 9.73 oz
Found on: Moleskin Utility Shirt

Cotton moleskin is a hard-wearing fabric commonly used on work jackets. While moleskin is extremely durable, it’s face is sheared for a soft hand. We’ve used this fabric on our military-inspired Utility Shirt and paired it with a lightweight ripstop nylon. Although these fabrics are tonal, they contrast greatly in finish and appearance giving this piece a unique look.

Realtree “Ducks & Fish” Polar Fleece

Printed in: USA
Content: 100% polyester
Weight: 240 gsm / 7.08 oz
Found on: Ducks & Fish 6 Panel Cap, Boonie Hat, Half Zip & Sweatpants

This ultra cozy fabric features a rare Realtree Ducks & Fish hunting pattern.

Chambray Cotton Flannel

This fabric has the appearance of regular chambray, commonly used in work shirts, but is made of super soft cotton flannel for added warmth and comfort. In maintaining the look of a classic work shirt, we’ve added a tab collar, triple-stitched seams and embroidered monogram.

Ultra-Heavyweight Jersey

Made in: Canada
Content: 100% cotton
Weight: 407 gsm / 12 oz

Knit, cut and sewn in Canada by Barbarian Sports Wear using 100% USA-grown cotton, this beefy fabric was designed to endure the abuse of rugby matches.

Heavyweight Jersey

Made in: Canada
Content: 100% cotton
Weight: 271 gsm / 8 oz
Found on: Wild Ones Pocket & L/S T-Shirt

Knit, cut and sewn in Canada by Barbarian Sports Wear using 100% USA-grown cotton. Typically used on “casual weight” rugby jerseys, we’ve used this fabric to create incredible, heavyweight t-shirts. The fabric is knit with yarn-dyed cotton, giving these shirts rich, vibrant colours. Taking these shirts one step further, we’ve mixed hand-selected, deadstock fabric on each piece making every shirt unique and one-of-one.

Camouflage Jersey

Made in: Canada
Content: 100% cotton
Weight: 250 gsm / 7.37 oz
Found on: Varsity Camo T-Shirt

Knit with 100% USA-grown cotton and fully produced in Canada, this fabric is 25% heavier than our classic midweight jersey and all-over printed in Montreal.

Classic Midweight Jersey

Made in: Canada
Content: 100% cotton
Weight: 200 gsm / 5.9 oz
Found on: T-Shirts

Our classic jersey is knit in Canada using 100% USA-grown cotton. This fabric is used to produce our tees which are fully knit, dyed, cut, sewn, embellished and packaged in Canada. After years of sampling, development and production, we’ve determined that this is our ideal weight for printed tees.

Gridstop Nylon

Made in: Japan
Content: 91% nylon / 9% HDPE
Weight: 163 gsm / 4.8 oz
Found on: Gridstop 6 Panel Cap

Gridstop is a tough-as-nails double ripstop fabric. The second layer of ripstop is made with high-density polyethylene, making this fabric almost indestructable. Not that you would ever need a hat to be THAT strong, but we though why not. This fabric also has a polyurethane coating on the inside to make it fully waterproof.

Moire Cotton/Acetate

Content: 53% cotton / 47% acetate
Weight: 186 gsm / 5.5 oz
Found on: Moire 5 Panel Cap

Moiré is the name given for an interference pattern caused by two overlapping patterns. This visual anomaly sometimes occurs when you take a photo of a pattern and view it on a screen, for example. The pattern and pixels will overlap and cause a new, water-like pattern to appear. Moire fabric is named after this effect and is produced by calendering, or pressing the acetate threads, in this case, at high temperature and pressure. The resulting fabric has a shimmering, rippled appearance.

Velvet

Content: 100% polyester
Weight: 297 gsm / 8.75 oz
Found on: Velvet 6 Panel Cap

Velvet is given it’s signature look and feel in the final stage of production when two layers of fabric, woven together are cut and separated. The cut fibers, now exposed, have a very short pile and give this fabric an extremely soft hand and a lustrous appearance.
